A real panel finish

     I finished the landscape panel for part seven.  I don't like the color palette too much (too much brown and yellow), but I like the way it looks.  I have uploaded photos, of course.  You can see the detail photo here, and the whole thing is here.  It was quick to do the bsing.  I did it all in about an hour.  I made a substitution on part of it though.  Most of the one side cacti are blue, and the others are a brown.  The floss for bsing was supposed to be Silk 'n' Colors  Pond Scum, which is a very light green.  For the blue cacti, I used it, as it shows up against the blue.  But for the brown cacti, I used Camouflage.  It shows up better against the brown.  Enjoy the pics, and I'm off to bed.  Will start the meerkat piece tomorrow!!  Whoo hoo!!

That's looking fantastic. I actually do like the colors. Just had a look at all the Chatelaine Designs you want to start. I'm slowly drawn back into Chatelaines too. I fell totally in love with the Baroque Garden, and have still the Holland mandala kitted up here.
Your Desert Mandala looks absolutely fantastic. LOVE it.

Thanks Gabi. I really am liking the way it's turning out. I wasn't sure how the big cactus was gonna work out with all the odd colors in it (I've never seen a brown or yellow cactus before, much less a tricolor one). But it turned out okay. I like Holland Mandala, but I had to draw the line somewhere, lol. Thanks Shannon and Nancy. I appreciate you leaving a comment.

Cucti! We have whole bunch of them around her in the desert and I love them so much! Seems like you are having fun stitching them, too ;

Actually, I really am. I've never seen a blue cactus, or a brown one, or a yellow one, but if that's what Martina wants, that's what I'll do, lol. They are interesting colors, and I like the finished product. This piece has been so much fun to stitch. I love it.

Thanks Sibohan. I was a little doubtful looking at the profusion of colors called for, but it just looks right, lol. Thanks Sally. I love the way the piece is coming together!!

I have seen a few of these Chatelaine designs on peoples' blogs and am sooooo tempted, they are gorgeous!

amazing piece, to bad you can't put your pictures in with the blog. That would really help, when reading your blog.

Thanks Siobhan. It is really detailed! Thanks Sally, I think so too. Thanks Sharon, I really like it too. They are gorgeous, and fun to work too Rhona. I love this one and am planning to get three more this summer. Thanks Debra. It just takes too long to upload the pics twice.

Wow, what a project! It looks great so far, I love the colors! I've seen Chatelaines designs before, and they are beautiful, but I'm not that ambitious! lol

Ok, that is just stunning! Whoa! Absolutely wonderful! I always admire those who can do Chatelaines. They're so beautiful, but I just don't have the tolerance for stitching them. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks Nick. I think the bigger and more complex, the better. So I love working on this piece. Ambition I have, lol. Thanks Margaret. I love the way it's working up. It's such a fun stitch, it keeps me interested and engaged. I have a quick gift to do, and then I'll be right back to it!!
